“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God.” John 14:1a
Jesus’ words of comfort to His disciples are profoundly relevant in the time we are living. Paul wrote: For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Romans 8:22.
The Apostle continued. Not only that, but we also, (the church, the body of Christ), who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our bodies. Vs 23.
During economic uncertainty, political upheaval, global unrest, increasing evidence of demonic influence, and trouble on every side, the sovereign God is still on the throne. Be encouraged, Saints. We are not forgotten! God is a promise keeper!
He promised never to leave, nor forsake us. His words to His disciples apply to His last day disciples as well. His words to us hold true. Face every challenge with faith in God. Use these trying times to hasten to His Throne. Run to the shelter of the arms of the awesome God. Psalm 91.
Remember, God is not slack concerning His promises. Take Him at His word. Be encouraged. The same God (in the person of Jesus the Christ), that spoke to the storm on the Sea of Galilee, is the same God who will speak to our storms and deliver us safely to our destinations. Hold to God’s unchanging hand!
All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; but the word of the Lord stands forever. And this is the word that was proclaimed to you. 1 Peter 1: 24 25 NKJV
