Belief Statement
We believe that there is one true and living God.
The Sovereign God exists as a Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the creator of all that exists.
(Genesis 1:1, 1:26 , John 1:1-3)
We accept by faith, according to the scriptures that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God.
(Matthew 16:13-16)
Our faith, substantiated by the scriptures, enables us to embrace God the Holy Spirit who is with us and in us at the time of conversion.
(John 14:17)
We believe in the inerrancy of the scriptures. God breathed (inspired) holy men to receive, and write His thoughts and intents for our benefit.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17, Ps. 119:105)
Because of the fall of man through the first man Adam, we believe that man was rendered totally depraved, having to exist without the benefit of right fellowship with God, and in need of an appropriate sacrifice to satisfy God’s unsettled anger toward sin.
(Rom. 3:23 )
We believe, that Jesus was/is the only means by which mankind can become restored to right fellowship with God.
(John 1:12 , 3:16 , 14:6, Romans 6:23)
We believe that there is a place of eternal life (heaven), reserved for those who have received Jesus as Savior and Lord, and eternal separation (hell). There is a hell which is reserved for Satan, his fallen angels and those who reject the Lamb of God.
(John 1:29)
We the members of the Union Chapel Church believe that we, who are born again, are recipients of God’s efficacious grace. We are “the church”; that is the called out and redeemed, or the ecclesia.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
We believe and accept as our mission as members of the local and universal church, to go (witness) and make disciples. We are committed to spreading the gospel message at home and abroad.
(Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)
Our mission and passion is to see that the church remains the church until Jesus returns.
(1 Thess. 4:16).
We endeavor to accomplish our mission through fellowship, worship, discipleship and stewardship following the Kingdom principles established in the scriptures and the example of the early church in particular.
(Acts 2:41 -47, 4:32 -33)
The mission will be accomplished neither by our might nor human powers of intellect, political persuasion or coercion, but by the Spirit of the one true and Living God.
(Zechariah 4:6)
