January 20, 2025: Morning Manna
I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service [act of worship]. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12: 1,2 NKJV
As we take the opportunity to honor the life, work and sacrifice of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., do so through the lens of the scriptures. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Rome words that must have had a profound impact on Dr. King.
The Holy Spirit speaks through the writings of the Apostle. The Spirit spoke with an equal sense of urgency through the Drum Major for peace (Dr. King).
The church has been called to be light and salt. We have been ransomed for eternal life with God. Of equal importance, we are the called-out assembly of regenerated people anointed and appointed for the purpose of demonstrating the power, plan, purpose love and mercy of the One True and Living God. 1 Pet 2:9.
Let us resolve to live lives that honor God by following His call to live holy. Honor Dr. King by engaging in peaceful (nonviolent) acts of service to a world in desperate need of seeing God in action. Do justice. Love mercy and walk humbly with the Lord our God. Micah 6:8
The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace, and brotherhood. Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
