Morning Manna: Luke 17: 11 – 19

There is something to be said about being a part of something.
We are communal people, made to interact with and live with other humans.
However, there are times when it serves us best to be alone – on our own. Know, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in us, we are never alone. The singleness of which I write is a singleness of heart and mind. The singleness of purpose that
declares “for Christ I live, For Christ I die”. That alone state is a state demanding that we take a stand for God in the midst of naysayers, unbelievers, doubters and detractors.
The gospel according to Luke reminds us of the importance of being the ONE. “Ten lepers burdened with an usually incurable disease cried out to Jesus for healing.” See Luke 17: 11 – 19 NKJV
Jesus instructed the TEN. “Go show yourselves to the Priest”. Along the way to the Priests they began to notice that they were in the process of becoming healed. The closer they became in proximity to the house of prayer and worship, the more the once
scaly scabs of the dreaded disease dried up giving way to normal, healthy flesh.
Sadly, only one person realized the blessing of seeking the Lord for help and being able to follow His directions. Only one went back to where Jesus was and said thank you for touching me. Thank you for releasing the affliction. Thank you for relieving me of the pain, discomfort and isolation that the disease had weighed on me.
Beginning today, start thanking God for His wondrous working power. Look over your lives. See what God has done for us.
When we were without strength, Christ died for us. When we were sinking deeply to rise from the sin sickness that is prevalent, when we remember how we cried, prayed, prayed and cried for deliverance, remember that in the
fullness (His time), God showed Himself to be true to His promise(s).
Don’t be like the crowd. It is only right when it lines up with the scriptures. It is right when we see evidence of His benevolence as it is activated in the oneness (embracing the aloneness of being the only one).
Dare to be different. If God has been good to you, tell somebody.
If the Lord has delivered you when you cried for help.
As you return to your families and homes go confessing that you’ve been in the presence of the Lord. His obedience caused the man who was once leprous, to be the one to “show and tell”
Have a blessed day,
Rev. Samuel Wright, Jr.
