~~ DANIEL FAST ~~
Good morning UCC family,
The New Year is upon us. A new season of Divine activity, opportunity, devoted ministry service is before us.
To that end, please prepare yourselves to begin the new year with expectation!
In doing so, we will engage in a twenty -one day Daniel fast.
Beginning Monday January 4, 2021 through Monday January 25 we will focus on:
- Spiritual and personal (human) relational purification.
- Divine direction individually and corporately. Pray especially for Pastors
- Manifestation of the power of God. i.e. signs and wonders: salvation, healing, deliverance.
The Daniel fast can include vegetables, fruits, nuts, and beans. Fish is acceptable.
No chicken, meat, sweets, sugar laden drinks, alcohol or tobacco.
There are numerous recipe ideas available on line. Please share ideas with one another.
Seek God regarding abstinence from certain entertainment that have the potential to steal your attention and growth in God by giving inordinate attention to one’s fleshly tendencies.
During the first few weeks of the new year we will explore the seven habits of a Godly life.
Keep in mind; we are living in this period of time [the church age], to be the representatives of the Sovereign God in the earth realm.
We are God’s gift of grace to the world until He raptures the church.
Let’s redouble our efforts to fulfill the call to “be the church.”
Try not to get caught up in the legal or restrictive aspects of fasting. Focus on getting closure to God, growing in your relationship with Him and fine tuning your hearing when He speaks.
Lastly, expect changes to occur in your life as you sacrifice and yield to Him. If you have any questions regarding fasting protocols, feel free to call Min. Patricia, the Diaconate team or myself.
Thank you,
Pastor Wright
